Let’s be honest, we ALL have a basement or a closet or a garage that is getting a little over-full of stuff. The clothes the kids have outgrown, the books you’ve read, the second blender you don’t need, the set of china from your great aunt that is still in the box.

What should you do with all that STUFF?! Donate it, of course!

Some people have the misconception that donating to a thrift store is a hassle. They fear it takes too much time and worry about how to get their stuff – especially the big stuff, like furniture – to a donation center.

Well, at arc Thrift Stores, donating could not be easier. Here’s what you need to know: (LINK TO DONATIONS)

We accept most items, including clothing, shoes, books, toys, kitchen items, furniture, décor, electronics (excluding televisions), computers (excluding monitors), and household items.

There are many ways to donate:

  1. Residents along the Front Range can go online and schedule an at-home/curbside pick-up.
  2. They can also call 303-238-5263 to arrange a pick-up.
  3. There are 16 donation drop-off centers along the Front Range.
  4. You can also donate at any of the 31 stores.
  5. While there are no at-home/curb-side picks yet in Grand Junction, residents there can donate at the new store in the Eastgate Shopping Center.

Our Vehicles for Charity program takes cars, boats, motorcycles, and recreational vehicles. You can donate your old or unwanted vehicle online or by calling 1-877-272-7212.

We also welcome cash and credit donations, which are easy and secure. All monetary donations stay in the community and help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

And, it really does feel fantastic to clear out the clutter. But that good feeling goes even further. As we like to say at arc, “Feel Great. Donate.” Our mission is to enhance the lives of people with intellectual and development disabilities. By donating and shopping with us you are making a difference in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the environment, helping them to have the opportunity to live more independent lives.

We’re also one of the largest recyclers in the state, keeping millions of pounds of items out of Colorado’s landfills every year. Your donations are resold in our stores yes, but we are also able to provide goods to local shelters and even victims of hurricanes, and fires and floods around the country.
